Welcome! I’m Bianca Ramos - the founding Travel Advisor of Cruising the Pacific.

I’m a born and raised Wisconsinite who never truly enjoyed the snow and cold but a child doesn’t choose where she lives. However, I was very fortunate to have a father who loved to take family vacations.

Every summer he would pick a different state or place to see, and we would road trip there stopping at various locations on the way to our main destination. At the time family vacations seemed boring to me - riding in a van for hours on end and waking up at 4 am to get as much into a day as possible was not ideal for a child.

But I was able to see so many incredible places - Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, and Niagara Falls. All of these family trips gave me an unquenchable fire for adventure, a love of travel, and a desire to find warmer weather. By the time I was a late teen I had been introduced to cruises and as soon as I could afford to go on one – I did.

Nothing had prepared me for how magnificent cruise ships are! My first cruise was the Western Caribbean on Carnival. For those who have been on a cruise, you know what I’m talking about when I say you never forget your first cruise. From the ever-changing menu - an absolute must for a foodie like me- and the included nightly entertainment always kept the experience new and exciting. Every inch of the ship’s interior is designed to maximize usefulness and make the best use of the finite space on this floating city. Everything about that first cruise was amazing and I was convinced when traveling internationally, that if I could visit by boat I would.

Fast forward a few decades, I had the opportunity to visit sunny California and stay with a friend. I had never considered moving to California before because let’s be real- it’s expensive to live here.  But after that visit I promised myself, I’d figure it out- I’d work two jobs if I had to because I wanted to live in CA permanently. By July I had found my home and made the move.

Being on the West Coast gave me more chances to hop on cruises debarking from San Diego or San Francisco. Now, I have several cruises under my belt, and I still believe cruising is the best way to get a taste of an area, or many areas, in one vacation.

This love of traveling - of having new and unique experiences, getting to learn about different cultures, and having the opportunity to try different food led me to where I am today. I went back to school to be a Travel Advisor so I can help others experience all the amazing places they want to go and turn all those maybes into memories.
