Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona - Review

Alvadora Spa - Royal Palms Resort by Hyatt - Scottsdale, AZ

Friendly greetings, peaceful ambiance, tasty food, and all around the best service is what awaits you at the Royal Palms Resort & Spa. This hidden gem offers a perfect blend of breathtaking natural beauty and an exquisite spa experience. Here every moment is designed to awaken your senses and transport you to a world of indulgence. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know how much I like to visit different spas. I favor those that offer a variety of amenities, so on our recent trip to Phoenix, I was excited to put this one to the test.

The Alvadora Spa is popular with travelers and locals. There were multiple friend groups enjoying the day together. The spa offers fabulous, included amenities. There are female and male locker rooms. You are given a robe and sandals to wear for the day. Inside each locker room is a eucalyptus steam room. Connecting to each locker room is their own, separate private sitting area with fireplace and a pool. The rest of the locker room provides toilets, showers, and plenty of counter space to get ready for whatever you have after.

While you wait for your service, there is a quiet relaxation area where you can enjoy tea, water, dried fruits, and trail mix. You’re also welcome to wait in their outdoor patio area. I decided to explore the property while I waited for my message, which you can see from the pictures is stunning. If you’re into architecture this place is for you.

My massage was in their couple’s water therapy room, which was fun to see. I didn’t get the added water enhancement and instead opted for their hot stone massage. In all honesty, both my husband and I agreed our massages were just ok. The quality doesn’t even make it into the top 10.

What this spa lacks in masseuse quality it far makes up for it with amenities. With your service you have all the amenities already mentioned plus access to the resort, so you can dine in any restaurant and use the pool and hot tub ALL DAY LONG. I’ve been to spas where you only get to use their amenities for two hours and some even charge extra to use them. When calling a spa to reserve services, I suggest asking what’s all included so you know what to expect and what to bring with you.

After our massages, it was lunch time, so we headed to the pool to see what their café offered. We decided to try their Short Rib Tacos and Seasonal Fruit Plate. As you can see from the pictures the portions are good size.  This is yet another perk of Royal Palms. Many resorts & spas don’t serve food pool side, so having everything so close was amazing!

The service offered by the pool staff is some of the best we’ve had. We never had to ask for more water as they just kept bringing it. Even when we first arrived, they noticed us and brought us water right away. If you’re familiar with Arizona’s hot summers, you know how important it is to stay hydrated.

In addition to the speedy food service, the staff even moved the umbrellas with the sun to keep our lounge chairs shaded. I’ve never seen this level of service at other resorts! Because of how attentive their staff is, we will be visiting this resort and spa again.

I don’t have detailed, personal experience with the guest rooms as we chose to stay somewhere else (you can read about that here), but from talking with guests it’s a favorite resort in the area. It’s even popular among the locals as one can rent a room from 9a - 5p for $150 (as of this writing) and it includes pool access. A pool day pass is $50/person, so many opt to reserve a room (for families with kids, this can be cost effective). Then you have a bed for little ones to nap in and your own bathroom.

Whether you seek a romantic getaway, a rejuvenating escape, or simply a moment of serenity amidst the desert oasis, the Royal Palms Resort and Spa stands ready to exceed your expectations. Allow yourself to be pampered by the attentive staff, indulge in delectable culinary delights, and surrender to the tranquil ambiance of this breathtaking retreat. Your journey to the Royal Palms Resort and Spa will be nothing short of extraordinary, leaving you with cherished memories and a desire to return to this idyllic sanctuary time and time again.

I’d love to hear from you! Let me know in the comments, if you’re someone who also enjoys spas, what’s your favorite? It doesn’t have to be in Arizona. I’m always looking for new ones to try.
